Wspomnienia Jasia z Turcji

Taste of Turkey
“Comenius” exchange program which takes places in our school is estimated in very positive way. I think that without such trip I would never find out all information about Turkish culture, cuisine preferences and daily life of typical family.
The trip last, including 6 days’ journey, which according me is perfect time for sightseeing interesting community center and at the same time it won’t exhausted the participants.
Well , let’s get back to family issue, in particular to the family I was living with. At the beginning I was expecting something terrible, but I was surprised in positive way. “Burak” our main partner was nice and helpful. Despite his level of language we could communicate without any problems, we were about to explain what we want to know. The rest of “Burak” family were his sister, gramother, father who is the history teacher, and mom also the teacher of art. The whole family was so good for us and they were smiling all the time. The next advantaged was that it was possible to communicate with them in English.
When it comes to Turkish cuisine, I love that, especially sweets. In general Turkish kitchen was to spicy for my palate but still I like it. My favorite sweets were “suduk” and baklava. “Suduk” are nuts jelly-covered. Baklava is kind of puff pastry with nuts, pistachio covered with sweet glaze similar to honey texture.
In conclusion I think that this trip was good. I will come back in the future.
